Starbreeze Studios
Stockholm, Sweden
When it came to designing new offices for the game developer Starbreeze Studios, a prototype car served as the inspiration for the architects. Its fluent shapes, luxury fittings, dynamic black-and-white contrasts and elegant chrome/silver and walnut look can all be found in the new office spaces at the Nordiska Kompaniet building in the center of Stockholm.
In line with company branding, dark, at times even gloomy shades, were used for many of the new office spaces. The challenge for the lighting planning therefore was to create a pleasant and productive working atmosphere in this dim ambience. This could be mastered by using efficient and ergonomic lighting technology by Selux. The range of variants from the M-family gave light planners plenty of scope for design. Besides being installed as pendant fittings, M36 luminaires were also recessed into walls in order to create an attractive visual lighting setting in communal areas and corridors.
