Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) is the oldest and largest private cancer research center and treatment facility in the world. Headquartered in New York City, with a focus on the health and well-being of their patients and visitors, they continue to strive for outpatient facilities that are both convenient and high-quality.

This facility, located in Montvale, New Jersey, was a former Toys ‘R’ Us headquarters. The project presented many challenges to the design firm, EwingCole including the desire for natural light to be a main focus. The oncology waiting areas incorporate unique light fixtures to not only complement the natural light, but also to add interest to the space.

M36 from Selux Corporation was chosen for its configurability as well as comfortable lit appearance. These “Y” patterns were placed within a wood-grain drop ceiling, which helped create a warm, welcoming environment.
