Kobjer Playground
Lund, Sweden
In this municipality with a strong population growth, the youngest also want to be thought of, so the project to re-light the playground in the Kobjer district was born from a citizen suggestion. The residents were of the opinion that it is too dark at the playground in the winter months and that sufficient lighting should be provided for the safety of the children.
The idea of solar lighting for the playground came up after a presentation by Selux. Lund City Council then decided to make this project a pilot study and install Selux's Lukida solar light columns. Lukida gets to the heart of sustainability because it generates light from solar energy and does so without releasing emissions that are harmful to the environment.
With their cylindrical shape, the solar modules enable installation regardless of orientation and blend organically into the appearance of the luminaires. High-efficiency silicon solar cells provide maximum solar energy harvesting with a minimal tube size. Not only are the round solar modules aesthetically pleasing and durable, the vertical mounting position prevents sand, snow or dust from accumulating on the modules.
To protect wildlife, lighting with Lukida here uses 3000 Kelvin warm light colors. The solar light column beautifies the environment with light that is there when wanted and recedes when not needed - this is ensured by the built-in motion sensors. As "off-grid" solutions, Lukida Solar Light Columns operate completely self-sufficiently: electricity and development costs are eliminated, and installation is quick and trouble-free for the surrounding nature.
