HGA Washington D.C. Office

Washington D.C.

Architecture firm HGA carefully selected the historic Woodies Building in Washington D.C. as the site for their new self-designed office. The building's high ceilings and expansive windows aligned with HGA's design DNA, but extensive renovations were required to transform the space into an elegant, timeless reflection of their collaborative culture.

Led by Principal Jay Scruggs, the design team - which included architects, interior designers, lighting specialists, engineers, and the business technology group - worked together to collect data, develop efficient processes, and incorporate the desires of the staff. As Scruggs explained, "Working with the process engineers in our Design Insight Group, we collected data and developed a process to design our new office with maximum efficiency while achieving the desires of the staff."

The Selux M60 was the ideal custom lighting solution for HGA's renovation project. This versatile luminaire was installed in three mounting variations - perimeter mount, suspended mount, and L-Recessed mount - to deliver sustainable architectural lighting with continuous lines of light. The M60's wide range of connectors allowed the luminaires to be fully integrated, while the Selux My White technology enabled flexible control over color and intensity to create a comfortable indoor environment. With its intelligent and efficient design, the M60 provided limitless possibilities to meet the project's lighting needs
