Glenville Elementary School
Greenwich, Connecticut
Situated on the western side of the town of Greenwich on nearly 20 acres, Glenville Elementary School was opened in 1975 and modernized in 1989. The school renovation provides a technologically advanced and energy efficient learning environment while the diversity of Glenville School supports an environment that makes it a place to learn about people and differences.
The renovated school houses 360 students in grades K-5 in 20 classrooms. The program space also includes gym, cafeteria, and library/media center housed around a central courtyard. The central location of the courtyard and public spaces allows for optimum acoustics and minimal distraction in each classroom.
The Glenville Elementary School renovation included approximately 100,000 square feet of updated space both interior and exterior. Selux Saturn 1 pole and wall mount luminaries were chosen for their superior lighting for the school's grounds, while also complementing the updated overall look of the school. Corral bollards were used in the courtyard to provide light that is practical without being overbearing in a small space.
