Gerling Quartier
Cologne, Germany
The Gerling Quartier is one of the largest urban development projects in Germany. The grounds, which were once the headquarters of the Gerling insurance company, have been fundamentally redeveloped and upgraded with contemporary buildings featuring premium-quality fittings. The Quartier, which is subject to a conservation order, has subsequently had new life breathed into it and now accommodates modern residential and office buildings with a historical charm in a central location.
The courtyard, which is located between refurbished and newly constructed façades, is decorated with historical fountains and state-of-the-art special LED luminaires by Selux. The classically elegant MTR columns blend superbly into the various architectural styles, creating a refined light mood during darkness.
The mature LED technology guarantees both a stable light color and a uniform luminous output. The 4 and 6 meter high columns provide illumination on three and four sides, generating homogeneous, customized illumination with their tried-and-tested Selux lens technology.
This fusion of historical and contemporary architecture with future-compatible technology creates a modern 21st-century classicism making the Gerling Quartier a truly unique location.
