Artists Soho Loft
Lower Mathatten, NYC
The Artists Loft once owned by the famous Fluxhouse cooperatives was founded at the end of the 1960s by George Maciunas. Attempting to preserve the Lower Manhattan fabric and also give artists a good experience in their studio for cheap prices, the renovation was set to experiment with the insertion of artists’ studios while also balancing residences in main parts of the city.
The loft has many quirks all designed to help offer up a living and working environment for visual artists. In attempts to create a home-studio combo, the loft features a long entrance that serves as an exhibition gallery, a service bathroom, and natural oak walls and ceiling. The loft also features many other unique elements to help stimulate the minds of artists.
