480 Arsenal Street
Watertown, Massachusetts
In the spring of 2015 the town planning board of Watertown saw an up-tick in the applications for residential complexes, office buildings, hotels, shops and restaurants along the Arsenal Street passageway. Powered by the economic upturn, add in the easy commute to Boston, access to public transportation and affordable land prices - change began. The vision for this former industrial site was to begin by opening it up, removing the chain link fencing and connecting to the Watertown Greenway Bike Path. The revitalization of Arsenal Street was underway, making Watertown Boston’s next borough.
Known as LINX, the naming idea coming from the “linking” of the Greenway, the Charles River and nearby neighborhoods is a mix office space with a substantial outdoor area for informal meetings and leisure activities.
The Inula Column and Bollard were selected for this project because of their sophistication and ability to illuminate pathways and areas with no up light. Inula provides lighting that is harmonious with the surrounding neighborhoods.
